I have worked with children and young people in care, and have an extensive knowledge of the care system, and of fostering and adoption.

I have personal experience of being the client in a counselling relationship, and have found this invaluable in helping me manage some very challenging life events, as well as accelerating my self-development, It also made me determined that counselling was the right career for me, and that I want to offer this service to others

I am committed to my ongoing professional development and attend further training on a regular basis.

I have regular supervision.

I am on the accredited register with the National Counselling Society. This register has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

This demonstrates my commitment to high professional standards, to enhancing safety and delivering a better service. I work to the NCS ethical frameworks.

I have public liability insurance and I have a DBS check, you can see proof of all of this on request.

 

Accessibility:  

I am based in Carshalton, a ten-minute walk from Carshalton or Wallington train station. I have a comfortable private room available. My room is on the first floor. Please let me know if you are unable to walk upstairs, and I can make arrangements to accommodate you on the ground floor.

I also offer online counselling through Skype.

 

Cancellation policy:

Please give at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel. I will not charge if we manage to rearrange the session.

If you come to our session under the influence of alcohol or drugs, I will not be able to work with you.

 

Confidentiality:

Everything we talk about will be confidential, except in two cases: If I there was reason for me to be concerned about your well-being or safety, and that of those around you, I may need to get help from another agency, for example your GP. The second case is that I talk about my work with my supervisor, but I do not disclose any of your personal details. 

I keep handwritten notes of our sessions, that I lock away in my office. You are welcome to see your notes. After 6 years your noted will be destroyed. I do not keep electronic records.
